Peace & Social Justice Forum to host a COMMUNITY CIRCLE FOR PEACE, Wednesday Nov 15, 6pm at the Belfast Free Library.
On Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 6 pm, the Peace & Social Justice Forum/Waldo County , will host a Circle for Peace at the Belfast Free Library. We will gather to read the "Women Wage Peace" Position Statement , written by members of one of the most important peace groups in Israel--"made up of Jewish and Arab women with diverse positions and opinions" who have been speaking out for over 9 years for a different path that would bring peace "for the future of our children. This is our obligation to both Israeli and Palestinian children. They deserve a future of security and freedom, not a future of death, war and destruction."
In solidarity with this commitment to the future, to ourselves, to all children and to Mother Earth, we invite people to bring poems, words, songs, laments--whatever your heart wants to share, in this time of so much suffering, both here and around the world. Sit together in circle, share or just listen, and bring our energy for peace together, along with our resilience and our grief.
Please bring written copies of your share, hoping to have ASL interpreter but written words will help as well. Thank you.
All are welcome. The Abbott Room, Belfast Free Library
