Welcome to the Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine website. Returning visitors will notice that the site has a revised format. This format is temporary, but hopefully will improve the experience of some visitors who have been experiencing “overlap” problems because of the width of our old template.

The War on Democracy documents the history of U.S. attempts to subvert democratic movements in Latin America. The film sheds light on U.S. actions such as the use of the ‘School of the Americas’, a defense department facility used to train people who eventually took part in the dismantling of democratic movements in places such as El Salvador and Chile, through the use of torture, murder and intimidation.
Film starts at 7 P.M. and discussion follows.
